Information About ORV Access to Cape Hatteras National Seashore |
|
Call Senator Burr, Senator Dole and congressman Jones and thank them for their efforts submitting S3113 in the Senate and HR 6233 in the House. Contact Information at the bottom. These bills would reinstate the Interim Management Strategy governing off-road vehicle use on Cape Hatteras National Seashore (CHNS). The reinstatement of the original Interim Management Strategy issued by the National Park Service (NPS) on June 13, 2007, would set aside current mandates and requirements which were put in place in the wake of a consent decree filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, that prevent off-road vehicle and citizen access to a significant portion of this National Seashore. Ask them to continue to support these two Bills. To the millions of visitors that come to our area each year, we ask for your help. Please call your congressman and Senator and ask for their support of these bills and sign on to be a Co Sponsor.
