TAX PROCESSING SPECIALIST

SOCIAL WORKER II- FAMILY SERVICES

Hospice Social Worker

Dare County Health Department is accepting applications for a Hospice Social Worker. The Hospice Social Worker provides medical social work services for home health and hospice patients and their families throughout Dare County. Position is also responsible for immediate supervision of two Volunteer Coordinators. Work typically involves providing support for individuals and families experiencing acute or terminal illness and requires a strong working knowledge of community resources in order to connect clients in need with appropriate and available resources. The social worker coordinates care with the patient, family members, caregivers, physician and other disciplines, agencies and/or community resources and provides bereavement support to dying individuals and their family members as well as to the community. This position takes a lead role in identifying and facilitating community needs, with active participation on various task forces, committees and or governing boards. Minimum Training and Experience Requirements: Master's degree in a human services field such as social work, counseling, psychology, special education, deaf education, or rehabilitation counseling or related curriculum and one year of experience in social work or counseling, preferably with the client population; or a bachelor's degree in one of the above fields and two years of social work or counseling experience; or graduation from a four-year college or university and four years of experience in counseling or a related human services field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work, or community organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Special Requirements: Maturity, flexibility, creativity and reliability to function under conditions that may be less than favorable. HEALTH PROMOTION SUPERVISOR

Dare County Health Department is accepting applications for a Health Promotion Supervisor. The Public Health Educator Supervisor provides leadership for community health assessment and planning, public health education and outreach, public information and media relations, resource development, and advocacy for policy and environmental change. PARAMEDICS

Dare County is accepting applications for EMT-Paramedics. Applicants will participate in a program to provide 24-hour emergency medical aid and assistance to the general public. They must be knowledgeable of all phases of emergency medical services, be responsible for specialized emergency medical and emergency cardiac treatment; and operate emergency life support equipment for the sick or injured prior to arrival at a hospital. Dare County operates 11 ambulances and 1 medivac helicopter out of 8 stations located throughout the County utilizing 24/48 shift staffing. Applicants must be 18 years of age with a High School diploma/ GED and posses a valid Driver's License. Must have appropriate NC-EMTP certification or be eligible for certification via legal recognition ("reciprocity") and hold current CPR, ACLS, PALS, & BTLS cards. COMMUNITY HEALTH TECHNICIAN

Dare County Health Department is accepting applications for a Community Health Technician. Responsibilities include providing supportive personal care to patients in their homes for Home Health and Hospice. Duties also include assisting Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists and other professional personnel in providing care to patients. Considerable knowledge of routine care and treatment of acute and chronically ill clients; working knowledge of general physical problems of acute and chronically ill and obvious signs of condition changes; skill in providing personal care needs of clients, performing nursing assistance acts such as wound care dressings, irrigation of catheters, tube feedings, and enemas as well as assisting with physical exercises. NUTRITIONIST III

This full time position will work 37.5 hours per week and will provide professional nutritional services for clients with comprehensive nutrition needs by providing professional, direct client services. The position is based in the Manteo office of the Department of Public Health as part its clinical services, and periodically utilizes the Kill Devil Hills and Buxton satellite offices. PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE (part-time)

Dare County Department of Public Health is accepting applications for a part time Public Health Nurse II (PHN II) position with benefits. The employee will work 20 hours per week as a Family Care Coordinator to clients enrolled in the Community Care Plan of Eastern Carolina (CCPEC) for Dare County. The CCPEC case manager will facilitate client access to those health and social services which enhance the client’s health and well being and his/her ability to adhere to the prescribed medical treatment regimen in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible. Additionally, the PHN II will collect data pertinent to CCPEC initiatives and will participate in network development and public relations for the CCPEC. The position will be based in the Manteo office of the Dare County Department of Public Health but will also conduct home visits as outlined by Dare County Department of Public Health and CCPEC protocols and will travel for required CCPEC meetings and training. Graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and one year of Public Health Nursing experience; or graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing with two years of professional nursing experience, including one year in public health; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Consideration given for strong computer skills. Special Requirements: Applicant must have a current North Carolina Registered Nurse License, current North Carolina driver’s license, current CPR preferred.
