Public Health Education Specialist
|

Dare County Health Department is accepting applications for a Public Health Education Specialist (PHES). The primary function of the PHES is to promote, maintain and improve individual and community health by increasing community awareness of and participation in public health programs and services. Work entails utilization of a broad variety of health education strategies and data management responsibilities. Work also entails communication orally and in writing with targeted populations of interest.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in health education and one year of experience in public health education or a related field; or graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of experience in public health education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred but not required.
A valid NC Drivers License and pre-employment drug testing are required. Full Salary range: $32,336-$51,739.

Public Health Nurse-Hospice
|
|
The Dare County Department of Public Health is accepting applications for a full-time registered nurse to provide professional nursing services to hospice clients in their homes. The position will serve as case manager for hospice clients and their families, traveling to their homes to manage symptoms, provide education, assist with connections to community resources and ensure services address the unique needs of each client and their family. Education and Experience Requirements: Graduation from an four-year college or university with a B.S. Degree in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and two years of Public Health Nursing experience; or a Master’s in Public Health and graduation from a school of professional nursing and two years of professional nursing experience; or graduation from a school of professional nursing and three years of professional nursing experience including two years in public health nursing experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special Requirements:
A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in NC by the NC Board of Nursing, current North Carolina driver’s license, current CPR preferred and pre-employment drug testing required. Salary Range: $43,087 – 68,938
